The IMPULSE®•G+ Series 4 can be used as an Open Loop Vector crane control.  At setup, the IMPULSE•G+ Series 4 will automatically set the parameters of the motor using its “auto-tune” feature. During operation, the IMPULSE•G+ Series 4 compares the output current of the motor to the speed reference. The crane controller will make corrections using an internal mathematical algorithm to precisely control the speed of the motor. This is done many times a second to ensure precise operation and safety at very low speeds.
